ANNOUNCEMENT OF SUMMER SIGNING; FABRIZIO ROMANO REVEALS: Arsenal to beat Man United and Chelsea to land Everton’s playmaker

Arsenal are expressing strong interest in Everton standout Amadou Onana and are aiming to outdo Manchester United and Chelsea in signig him, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano. However, the Gunners have yet to finalize their transfer plans for the upcoming season.

Even after making significant signings in the 2023 summer transfer window, Arsenal are expected to continue their spending spree this summer in order to improve their squad. Manager Mikel Arteta is particularly keen on acquiring a new centre-forward and a midfielder who can partner with Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.

Among the targets, Onana is a player highly regarded by Arsenal, although the competition for his signature is fierce as all the ‘Big Six’ clubs are reportedly monitoring him. According to Romano, Arsenal’s sporting director Edu is closely tracking Onana’s situation, but is also considering an alternative in Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

While Arsenal are contemplating their next move, the price difference between the two players is significant. Zubimendi can be signed for £51m, while Everton is likely to demand bids over £70m for Onana.

Despite the interest in Onana, his sister and agent, Melissa Onana, revealed that the player decided to stay at Everton during the recent winter transfer window. However, the impending summer transfer window may see a change in his decision as there are plenty of suitors interested in him.
