‘CHALLENGING DEAL’ -Tottenham ready to sign ‘most sought-after playmaker in the league’ ahead of summer, Aston Villa on standby

Tottenham Hotspur has thrown their hat into the ring for Hull City star Jaden Philogene. The young player had previously been transferred from Aston Villa alongside Cameron Archer, who moved to Sheffield United, Philogene having spent time on loan with Stoke City and Cardiff City.

While Archer’s performance has been inconsistent, Philogene has shone brightly in the Championship, amassing eight goals and six assists in just 20 games. His exceptional talent has positioned him as a key player in Hull’s efforts to reach the play-offs.

With speculation of his move to the Premier League growing, Tottenham is reportedly the frontrunner in the race to sign him, having scouted him extensively and identifying him as a top target for the summer transfer window. Philogene’s versatility and ability to play on both flanks has piqued the interest of the Spurs, who are seeking a quality winger to add to their roster.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa still has a stake in Philogene’s future, as they hold a buy-back clause as part of the previous deal, allowing them to bring him back for £15million. However, if another club, like Tottenham, makes a higher offer, Villa would need to match it to secure his return.

Despite the potential challenge posed by Villa, Tottenham may see Philogene’s value as worth pursuing, especially given his impressive season in the Championship. However, they also have other options to consider in their quest for new wingers.
