‘SPYGATE TREATMENT’ -Leeds United pair on receiving end of Marcelo Bielsa-style

Leeds United pair, Rasmus Kristensen and Diego Llorente, found themselves at the center of a Marcelo Bielsa-style ‘Spygate’ situation during a recent training session. Reports from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim that a staff member from Torino was caught ‘spying’ on AS Roma’s practice ahead of their match on Monday evening.

Allegedly, Torino staff member Michele Orecchio was discovered hiding and taking notes at Roma’s training ground before the game. This isn’t the first time Orecchio has been found in this situation, as he was previously caught with recording equipment by Jose Mourinho’s assistant Nuno Santos at Roma’s training facility last April.

This incident serves as a reminder of Leeds United’s own ‘Spygate’ scandal, which involved Bielsa admitting to sending staff to spy on opponents’ training sessions. Despite this controversy, Roma emerged as 3-1 winners over Torino, with Kristensen playing as the right-sided wing-back and Llorente out due to injury. Roma is expected to sign Llorente permanently this summer, while Kristensen’s future at Leeds remains uncertain beyond the current season.
