“COMPLETE DISASTER- Leeds United stance vs Chelsea shared as Mauricio Pochettino sack mooted in ‘disastrous’ verdict

According to Dean Jones, Leeds United are confident that they can pull off a surprise victory in their upcoming match against Chelsea. The two teams are set to meet in the FA Cup fifth round at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday (28 February).

Jones also mentioned that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino could be in danger of losing his job if Leeds United comes out on top following their disappointing League Cup final defeat to Liverpool.

“This is a major setback,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT (26 February). “They had a great opportunity to beat Liverpool, especially facing a team missing so many key players at Wembley.

“They were lucky to get away with Moises Caicedo’s tackle and the Virgil van Dijk VAR goal, and they failed to capitalize on their chances. It is difficult to accept, especially since they didn’t take advantage during extra-time when Liverpool had inexperienced players on the field.

“The late defeat has been described as embarrassing, and they are being criticized for their lack of mental strength. Now they have to face Leeds United, one of their oldest rivals in the game. Leeds are coming to London with the belief that they can cause an upset, and if they do, Pochettino will likely be facing the sack. It could be a disastrous week.”

Despite Chelsea’s struggles this season, it would be a hasty and unusual decision for owner Todd Boehly to dismiss Pochettino.

Pochettino will undoubtedly be disappointed with the result against Liverpool, but the Reds were simply more determined on the day. Furthermore, the Merseyside team had robust support from their enthusiastic fans at the national stadium.

The Blues now have a chance to bounce back when they play against Leeds in the FA Cup, and another defeat for Chelsea would be unacceptable for Pochettino.

However, a home loss to a Championship side may be the final straw for the manager, especially considering Chelsea’s track record of sacking their coaches.
