The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a Leeds United fan was hospitalized after sustaining injuries in the away section at Chelsea.
Authorities, stadium staff, and medical personnel were observed entering the away section during the first half of the FA Cup match at Stamford Bridge, and the club later issued a statement, reporting: “Leeds United can verify that an incident involving a Leeds United supporter took place in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge during the first half of tonight’s FA Cup game. The incident is under investigation and is being handled by the emergency services.”
The police have informed the Yorkshire Evening Post that they are awaiting updates on the fan’s condition, but his family has been notified of the incident. A spokesperson stated: “Officers, in conjunction with paramedics and Chelsea FC personnel, responded to an injured man in the away section during the match with Leeds United on Wednesday, 28th February.
“The man was transported to the hospital for medical care. We are awaiting news on his condition. His family has been informed.”
