JAMIE VARDY’S REPLACEMENT: Danish striker perfect like-for-like Jamie Vardy replacement

Jamie Vardy’s contract is coming to an end at Leicester City and the legendary player is aiming to lead the club back to the Premier League in a grand finale, but his replacement is already waiting in the wings.

Vardy signed with Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012, becoming the first million-pound non-league footballer in English history. Despite a slow start, his goals helped take Leicester up in 2013/14 and he achieved iconic status at the King Power Stadium by winning the Premier League in 2015/2016.

He continues to score goals in the Championship, helping Leicester reach the top of the league. However, with an eye on the future, it’s likely that Vardy will be leaving in the summer, which is why Kasper Dolberg is being considered as his potential replacement.

Although Kelechi Iheanacho, Patson Daka, and Tom Cannon are also competing with Vardy, the Foxes will likely need four striking options next season if they are promoted to the top-flight. Vardy’s age and high salary could make his departure a reality, but Dolberg could be the perfect replacement.

While Vardy has excelled in non-penalty goals, pass completion rate, and clearances, Dolberg is comparable, ranking high in non-penalty goals, pass completion rate, and displays more proficiency in terms of clearances when defending from the front.

Vardy will always be a legend at Leicester, but it’s thought there will be a departure this summer, with Vardy preparing to leave the King Power Stadium. He’s not planning to retire, as he feels as young as he takes care of himself and stays fit. He believes that as long as he continues to recover and prepare properly, he’ll keep feeling fresh and continue playing.
