“PLOT TWIST” -Everton sent warning over possible further points deduction – but there’s a twist to worry Nottingham Forest

Everton is at risk of facing another points deduction, as reported by a financial expert. The team has already experienced a deduction of 10 points this season due to Financial Fair Play violations, but four points were returned after an appeal.

However, the club may still be in trouble as Premier League clubs must adhere to loss limits over a rolling three-year period. The latest accounts were submitted last year, and they will be made public in March, revealing which clubs may be in breach of Financial Fair Play rules, also known as profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

According to finance expert Stefan Borson, Everton is in danger of breaching the rules again, which could result in another points deduction. He emphasized the unfairness of facing double punishment for the same period, but pointed out that the club’s trend of losses could lead to further penalties.

Borson predicted that Everton’s significant losses in the 2022/23 season could result in a substantial punishment, possibly another six-point deduction. He also mentioned the potential for Nottingham Forest to face a points deduction, as they are also close to breaching the rules.

Ultimately, both clubs may be subject to additional penalties, with Nottingham Forest potentially facing two to three points deducted. However, Borson noted that the outcome will depend on various factors, including the recklessness of spending and potential mitigating factors.
