‘CONCERNING’ -Martin Keown reacts to what Jim White told him about 777 Partners amid Everton takeover

Martin Keown has expressed his worry about the information he received from Jim White regarding 777 Partners’ bid to take over Everton. On talkSPORT, White revealed that clubs partly owned by the US investment firm, including Standard Liege, Hertha Berlin, Seville, and Vasco da Gama, are all struggling in their respective leagues and are in a relegation battle.

Keown described this as “concerning” and stated that it’s evident that the ownership model of 777 Partners is “not working.” The former player emphasized the importance of Everton focusing on their performance on the pitch, despite the distractions surrounding the takeover.

The takeover situation has been ongoing for several months, and the Premier League is carefully considering whether 777 Partners is the right fit for the club. The struggles of the clubs with 777 Partners’ involvement do not inspire much confidence for Everton’s future. A decision needs to be made soon, and plans should be put in place for the club’s future, regardless of the takeover outcome.

Despite the uncertainty, Everton did have a positive result in their appeal against a points deduction, which will aid in their goal of remaining in the Premier League beyond this season.
