“MADNESS” -Sky Sports pundit rages after ‘Dangerous’ incident in Leeds United v Huddersfield

Andy Hinchcliffe was seething with anger at Huddersfield defender Jonathan Hogg following his red card against Leeds United. Hogg was given a second yellow card for a high elbow on Junior Firpo just before half time, with Huddersfield trailing 1-0. While commentating for Sky Sports, Hinchcliffe labeled the incident as “madness” and “dangerous,” noting that Hogg knew exactly what he was doing. He criticized Hogg for raising his arm and intentionally threatening Firpo. Despite the lack of force in the elbow, Hinchcliffe argued that Hogg’s actions were deliberate and intended to disrupt Firpo. He commended the referee’s decision to send Hogg off and suggested that it could have even warranted a straight red card. Hogg’s recklessness ultimately cost his team, as Leeds came back to secure a draw in the second half. Hinchcliffe’s candid criticism of Hogg’s behavior stood out against any attempts to give the player the benefit of the doubt, as it was clear to everyone, including Hogg, that his actions were simply malicious.
