“COMPLETE DISASTER” -Referee slammed for ‘absolutely blatant’ error in Sunderland defeat v Leicester City

Sunderland faced a tough defeat at home against league leaders Leicester City on Tuesday night. Jamie Vardy scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute, securing a win for the Foxes.

Controversy arose towards the end when Dan Ballard was seemingly brought down inside the Leicester penalty box, but no penalty was given. This decision left many, including journalist Michael Graham, frustrated.

The Black Cats have now suffered five consecutive defeats, putting pressure on interim manager Mike Dodds. Despite some positives in their performance against Leicester, including Chris Rigg’s solid play, it was another loss for Sunderland.

They currently sit in 10th place in the table and are 10 points behind 6th-placed Hull City with 12 games remaining in the season. Their next match is away at Southampton, who will be looking to bounce back from recent poor form and secure a win against Sunderland.

The Saints will see this matchup as an opportunity to earn vital points and keep their promotion hopes alive. Kick off is set for 3pm on Saturday.
