Leicester City missed an opportunity to widen their lead in the Championship after an intense draw with Hull. Jamie Vardy managed to level the game twice against Hull, but Enzo Maresca’s team couldn’t find a winning goal. Despite Ipswich’s defeat, Leicester remains at the top with a three-point lead, only four points away from third place.
City gifted Hull an early goal due to a mistake from Wout Faes, allowing Fabio Carvalho to score. However, Mads Hermansen saved a penalty from Carvalho shortly after. Vardy scored a penalty to level the game, and then responded quickly to Anass Zaroury’s goal in the second half.
With two changes in the starting lineup, Jannik Vestergaard returned from suspension and James Justin returned to defense. Vardy, despite missing training, led the attack for City.
Despite Ipswich’s loss earlier in the day, City had a shaky start and relied on Hermansen’s saves in the first ten minutes. Although Yunus Akgun missed a chance to score, Faes’ error led to Hull taking the lead.
City managed to equalize before half-time with Vardy scoring a penalty. In the second half, both teams scored within minutes, with Zaroury scoring for Hull, and Vardy responding with another goal for City.
The remainder of the game was evenly matched, but neither team created clear enough chances to win, ending in a draw. Individual player performances were scored accordingly.
