When a veteran player of great accomplishments and honors takes the time to praise a young superstar in any sport, it catches everyone’s attention.
In the midst of the Boston Celtics’ historic 2023-2024 season, forward Jayson Tatum has been receiving accolades from his peers and basketball legends of the past and present.
It’s not often that opponents give MVP endorsements the day before a game, but that’s exactly what Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns did before their rematch against the Celtics in Boston. Tatum had led the Celtics to victory in Phoenix with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.
Durant, an NBA veteran with numerous accolades himself, spoke highly of Tatum, predicting that he will dominate the league for the next decade. Tatum, along with his Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown, has been a force to be reckoned with in the NBA. In their rematch against the Suns, they combined for 63 points, carrying the Celtics to victory and securing a playoff spot.
With Boston’s strong three-point shooting and impressive record, they are poised to make a deep playoff run and potentially clinch the top seed in the NBA. Despite injuries and setbacks, the Celtics are determined to add another championship banner to their collection.
