SAD NEWS: Leeds United confirm key player is set to undergo surgery to address injury

Leeds United forward Georginio was eagerly anticipating his international duty with the France under-21s team, only to have his plans disrupted by a persistent hernia issue. Despite managing the discomfort for several weeks, it became apparent that Georginio needed to undergo minor surgery to address the problem.

As a result, the decision was made for Georginio to withdraw from Thierry Henry’s squad and focus on his recovery during the upcoming international break. Leeds United confirmed the news in a statement, expressing their support for the player as he prepares for the surgical procedure.

The club’s medical team is optimistic that Georginio will be able to return to training within approximately 10 days, potentially making him available for Leeds’ crucial Easter weekend fixtures against Watford and Hull City. With Leeds currently sitting at the top of the Championship table, Georginio’s absence will undoubtedly be felt, given his impressive track record of 17 league assists and six goals so far this season.

Despite facing this setback, Georginio remains a valuable asset to Leeds United, as evidenced by his stellar performance in their recent 2-0 victory over Millwall, where he contributed two crucial assists. As he embarks on his recovery journey, the club is fully supportive of Georginio’s rehabilitation process and looks forward to his swift return to the pitch, where his skills and contributions will undoubtedly be missed in his absence.
