As the Championship season winds down, it appears that Elland Road is gearing up for a busy summer of transfer activity. The Whites will be looking to bolster their squad while also preparing to offload a number of players returning from loan spells.
Manager Daniel Farke has expressed his desire to move on from these loanees, with some potential departures easier to negotiate than others. Rasmus Kristensen, who has been on loan at Roma, is one player who looks set to leave the Italian club after his loan ends. Despite a mixed spell in Rome, Kristensen is expected to bid farewell with his loan deal not including an option to buy.
On the other hand, Diego Llorente, also on loan at Roma from Leeds, is in a more favorable position. Roma is reportedly keen on signing the Spaniard permanently for €5m, giving them the option to keep him or sell him for a profit. This move would see Leeds recoup some of the money spent on Llorente when he joined from Real Sociedad in 2020.
With several other players set to return from loan spells, including Jack Harrison, Max Wober, Marc Roca, and Sam Greenwood, it seems unlikely that they will have a future at Elland Road. The summer promises to be a time of change for Leeds United as they prepare for the upcoming season.
