Everton fans were seen making the trip to Scotland to support their beloved Toffees legend Duncan Ferguson as Inverness Caledonian Thistle faced off against Dundee United, ending in a 1-1 draw on Saturday (23 March).
Ferguson’s Caley Thistle team is fighting for survival in the Scottish Championship, currently sitting in the relegation qualification spot just below Ayr United.
With Everton on an international break and their next Premier League match scheduled for Saturday 30 March, a group of Evertonians decided to show their support for their former manager and player by travelling to Scotland.
Despite initially taking the lead, Caley Thistle couldn’t hold on as United equalized in the second half, leaving them three points away from safety.
The gesture from the Everton fans was well received, especially as Ferguson is in his second managerial spell since leaving Everton in January 2022.
Both Everton and Nottingham Forest are currently fighting to avoid relegation, with only four points separating them. With matches against tough opponents like Bournemouth, Burnley, Forest, Brentford, and Luton coming up, every point will be crucial in the fight for survival.
Led by manager Sean Dyche, Everton has a solid defensive record, ranking joint-fourth best in the division. With players like Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski in their ranks, the Toffees will be looking to secure their Premier League status for another season.
