Everton in a fierce showdown against European powerhouses and Premier League foes for highly sought-after England U17s goalkeeper before the summer transfer window opens

Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, as well as a host of other esteemed European clubs, are reportedly in pursuit of the talented England Under-17 goalkeeper, Douglas Lukjanciks, this summer.

At just 16 years old, the Everton goalkeeper holds dual nationality due to his Latvian heritage, which has enabled him to attract interest from clubs across the continent. With his exceptional skills between the posts, Lukjanciks has impressed scouts from Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, and Marseille, showcasing his potential while playing above his age group for both the national team and Everton Under-18s.

In addition to the foreign clubs vying for his signature, Premier League outfits such as Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Southampton are also said to be keeping a watchful eye on the young shot-stopper.

Despite his upcoming plans to enroll in Everton’s academy as a scholar in July, Lukjanciks, who is set to finish school this summer, finds himself contemplating his next career move. The mounting interest from both home and abroad has presented him with a decision to make that could potentially see him embark on a new path, much to the dismay of Everton, who view him as a key figure in their future first-team plans.
