Leeds United have set their sights on Sunderland defender Trai Hume as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window at Elland Road, as reported by the Belfast Telegraph.
According to the outlet, Daniel Farke’s team faces competition from Aston Villa, Leicester City, Bournemouth, and Napoli for the Northern Irish international.
Hume extended his contract with Sunderland in 2023 and is valued at £8 million by the Black Cats, with Linfield entitled to 15% of any transfer fee due to a clause in their original agreement.
Leeds United has been monitoring the 22-year-old defender ahead of the summer transfer window, hoping to secure his services should they secure promotion to the Premier League this season.
With Luke Ayling likely to depart permanently at the end of the campaign, Leeds could use reinforcements in defense, particularly at fullback. While Connor Roberts has performed well on loan from Burnley, it remains to be seen if the Whites will make his move permanent or explore other options.
