Manchester United desperate to secure £35m transfer for coveted superstar pursued by Guardiola as Celtic eagerly anticipate record-breaking bonus payout.

Celtic are closely monitoring the emergence of two new contenders in the race for Jeremie Frimpong, as Manchester United and Manchester City express their interest in the talented right-back.

The Dutch international seems on track to secure the Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen this season. With a potential victory for Leverkusen over Bayern Munich this weekend, they could extend their lead to 13 points with seven games remaining, cementing their dominance in German football.

Frimpong joined Leverkusen in 2021 and has been a key player in their campaign, contributing double figures in both goals and assists from his right-back position. Recent reports suggest that Man Utd and Premier League champions City are keen on acquiring his services, adding to the growing speculation surrounding the 23-year-old.

Bayern Munich is also rumored to be interested in Frimpong, with reports indicating that they have identified him as a potential target for a summer transfer, with a release clause ranging from 40 to 45 million euros. Both Man Utd and Man City have a history of spending large sums on transfers, making them serious contenders for his signature.

Teams led by Erik ten Hag and Pep Guardiola have been closely monitoring Frimpong throughout the season, with City viewing him as a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. Reports suggest that a one-time release clause of £35m could be triggered this summer, potentially leading to a significant windfall for Celtic, who signed Frimpong from City in 2019 and sold him for £11m with a lucrative release clause.

If the right-back were to move for the £35m fee, Celtic could stand to gain £10.5m from the deal, as Leverkusen would be unable to prevent the move at that price. Meanwhile, Celtic are focused on their upcoming derby against Rangers, a crucial fixture in the title race as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the table.
