Drivers are being advised about the upcoming closure of a key route in Coventry on Saturday. The A444 Jimmy Hill Way will be shut down following the Coventry City versus Leeds United match at the CBS Arena.
With an estimated 30,000 fans attending the game, the road closure is necessary to ensure a safe departure for supporters. The closure is scheduled from approximately 4:15pm to 5:45pm, with alternate routes set up. Drivers will be redirected via Holbrook Way, Holbrook Lane, Wheelwright Lane, and up to Ash Green.
A spokesperson for CCFC stated: “This closure post-match is for the safety of everyone and will be lifted once it is deemed safe to do so. Vehicles in Car Park C can exit towards Coventry City Centre and follow the diversion route to the M6.”
Once the closure is lifted, Car Parks A and D will be released first to minimize disruption. The closure spans from A444 Holbrook Way to M6 Junction 3, with only exit permitted from Car Park C and Arena Shopping Park Southbound towards Coventry City Centre.
Fans leaving the Arena are reminded to use designated crossing areas, as there will be no traffic on the road during the closure period.
