CONTRACT U-TURN: David Moyes completely flips on contract decision following embarrassing defeat to Crystal Palace

Following an embarrassing 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace, journalist James Sharpe is now questioning whether the West Ham board will reconsider their contract offer to David Moyes. The loss at Selhurst Park was described as one of the worst team performances under Moyes’ leadership.

Moyes, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, has been contemplating a new deal that was presented to him earlier this year. However, the recent defeat has raised doubts about the board’s willingness to keep the offer on the table.

Sharpe, speaking from outside the stadium, expressed concern over Moyes’ future with the club. He questioned how much longer the contract offer will stand and humorously suggested that club vice-chairman Karren Brady might accidentally discard it into a fire.

The journalist pointed out the lackluster performance from West Ham and raised doubts about the team’s direction under Moyes. Supporters who have been calling for Moyes to be replaced now feel vindicated, while those who have supported him are beginning to have second thoughts after the dismal display.

The defeat against Palace was another indication that West Ham is struggling to compete against lower-ranked teams. The lack of European football as a cushion for Moyes adds to the uncertainty surrounding his future with the club.

With the season drawing to a close, it seems logical for both parties to reevaluate their options moving forward. Instead of prolonging the decision, it may be time for Moyes and West Ham to part ways.
