“WHY DON’T THEY JUST PLAY EACH OTHER EVERY WEEK? FORGET THE REST!” JEFF STELLING RIDICULES THE AMOUNT OF TIMES CELTIC AND THE IBROX SIDE FACE OFF AGAINST EACH OTHER

Do the English ever change their tune when it comes to our game? Nope, it’s the same old story every time.

They’re always yapping about how even their Nan could play in our league, or how it’s just a league for pub teams.

Blah, blah, blah.

The constant condescension from down there really starts to grate on you after a while.

It’s the same snarky comments from people who don’t have a clue about what our game is really about.

Now we have the likes of Jason Cundy, Jamie O’Hara, and even Jeff Stelling from Soccer Saturday joining in on the disrespect.

I thought Stelling had a bit more class than that, but apparently not.

Simon Jordan, for all his faults, at least tries to talk up our game and be objective about it.

But Stelling? He dove straight into negativity after the weekend’s Cup semi-finals.

He’s claiming fans in England won’t care about the upcoming Glasgow derbies because apparently, both sides face off against each other “every week.”

Funny how he thinks that, especially when the last Glasgow Derby drew record viewers on Sky Sports.

How could that happen if no one in England cared?

It just goes to show the closed-minded, condescending attitude that people involved in the EPL have towards our game.

Our game might not be rolling in cash like the EPL, but it has passion and soul.

There’s no comparison when it comes to the atmosphere at Scottish games.

Just ask Matt O’Riley, who was blown away by the atmosphere at Tynecastle during his first game there.

Our game may not have the big bucks, but it has heart.

Something that the EPL is seriously lacking.

When Stelling and the Talksport crew start mouthing off about Scottish football, it’s clear they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

They’re making judgments without any real knowledge.

Stelling even had the audacity to suggest we should forget about the other teams in Scotland and just play Rangers all the time.

Have you ever heard such nonsense in your life?

At least Ally McCoist stood up to him and put him in his place.

We do care when they criticize our game like this, because it’s coming from a place of entitlement and ignorance.

Critique the game if you actually understand it, but keep your mouth shut if you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Stelling is just following the Talksport trend, stooping to the level of idiots like Cundy and O’Hara.

But I can guarantee one thing – fans from all over the world will be tuning in for the upcoming Glasgow derbies.

Because they know it’s the most intense derby in the world, and nothing in England even comes close.

That’s just a simple fact.
