Leicester City important midfielder set to return to Serie A this summer and opens up about the ‘painful part’ of his time with the Foxes.

Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet shared his longing to make a return to Serie A this summer, reflecting on the challenges he faced during his time with the Foxes.

Having left Sampdoria for Leicester in 2019 for a significant fee, Praet also had a brief loan spell with Torino before settling in the East Midlands for the past two seasons. With his contract set to expire soon and no new deal on the table, he is preparing for a fresh start elsewhere as a free agent.

In an interview with Nieuwsblad, Praet expressed his desire for more playing time and a chance to rediscover his passion for the game at a new club. While he is confident in his abilities as a player, he is eagerly awaiting concrete offers amid uncertainty in the transfer market.

Having enjoyed his time in Italy with Sampdoria and Torino, Praet admitted that Serie A holds a special place in his heart due to the tactical aspect of the game. Despite the allure of the Premier League, he emphasized his preference for a return to Italy where he felt most comfortable and productive.

When questioned about a potential move back to Torino, Praet revealed that although the club had shown interest in the past, negotiations never materialized due to Leicester’s reluctance to let him go easily. However, he remains open to the idea of reuniting with his former team and is eager to explore all possibilities for his next career move.
