After Leicester City secured promotion back to the Premier League, Kelechi Iheanacho’s future with the club seems uncertain. Despite featuring regularly in the first half of the season, the striker saw limited playing time this year, making only five appearances in 2024.
With his contract set to expire in June, Iheanacho has reportedly decided against signing a new deal with Leicester. His desire is to join a club that can offer him European football next season, and Fenerbahçe has emerged as a potential destination for the Nigerian international.
Fenerbahçe, who currently rely on Edin Džeko and Michy Batshuayi in attack, are looking to strengthen their forward line. The Turkish club’s sporting director is considering replacing Batshuayi with Iheanacho, as they plan to make the first contact with his agency regarding his salary demands.
If Iheanacho is willing to accept a deal close to €3m per year, there is a possibility that he could make the move to Fenerbahçe for the upcoming season.
