Coventry City bids farewell to several key players as the 2023/24 season comes to a close. Club captain Liam Kelly, who has spent an esteemed seven years with the team, is set to depart after leaving a lasting legacy.
Kelly, who first joined Coventry in 2017, played a significant role in the team’s rise through the football ranks. He led the team to a League One title and guided them to the brink of Premier League promotion in the recent Championship Play-Off Final.
Joining Kelly in their departures are goalkeeper Simon Moore, as well as Under-21 players Dermi Lusala and Bradley Stretton. Moore, who came from Sheffield United in 2021, made valuable contributions to the club in 46 matches over three seasons.
Meanwhile, Luis Binks will be heading back to Bologna after a successful loan spell with Coventry, having made 23 appearances across all competitions this season.
Manager Mark Robins expressed his gratitude to the departing players, acknowledging their dedication and impact on the team. He said, “I want to extend my thanks to all the players leaving for their invaluable contributions to Coventry City. They have played crucial roles in our recent achievements and will always be remembered fondly.”
Amidst the departures, the club has made contract offers to Callum O’Hare and young goalkeeper Luke Bell, ensuring the team’s future remains bright.
