Luton Town ready to seal deal with Conventry city key player as official bid confirmed

Luton Town is reportedly preparing to launch an initial bid for Coventry City midfielder Ben Sheaf, as per information from Alan Nixon’s Patreon. The Hatters recently experienced the disappointment of being relegated from the Premier League and are now faced with the possibility of losing Ross Barkley to Aston Villa. With the potential departure of Barkley looming, Luton is eyeing Sheaf as a suitable replacement.

Rob Edwards’ team is determined to secure promotion back to the Premier League and is in a strong financial position thanks to parachute payments. Sheaf has been a standout player for Coventry City in recent seasons, impressing with his performances that have caught the attention of Luton Town.

According to reports, Luton may need to offer over £10 million and competitive wages to convince Sheaf to make the move from CBS Arena to Kenilworth Road. Coventry Live has stated that Sheaf is in line to become the captain of Coventry City, which could make the decision to leave the club more challenging.

Despite interest from other clubs like Fulham and Ipswich, Luton is determined to pursue Sheaf as a key signing this summer. With his experience and quality in midfield, Sheaf could be a valuable addition to the team as they aim for success in the Championship. His contract with Coventry until 2026 means that any potential transfer would require a substantial offer from interested clubs.
