After being given full support by the board last summer, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made ten signings, both on loan and permanent deals. However, only three of these signings have seen significant playing time in the Scottish Premiership- Luis Palma, Hyun-jun Yang, and Paulo Bernardo.
Many of the new additions have failed to secure a regular spot in the starting XI, leading to regret over the club’s transfer business during that period. One player, in particular, Gustaf Lagerbielke, has struggled with only four league starts to his name. Another disappointing signing, Odin Thiago Holm, cost the club a reported £2.8m, including transfer fee and wages, but has contributed little on the pitch.
Despite arriving with promise from Valerenga, Holm has only managed one assist in nine league appearances, losing 54% of his duels. His lack of impact was evident during the title celebrations, where he refused to lift the trophy. With minimal playing time and limited contribution, Celtic may be wise to part ways with Holm in the upcoming summer transfer window.
