Ipswich on the brink of making a jaw-dropping £21m deal for Hutchinson’s dream replacement.

All doubts regarding Kieran McKenna’s future at Portman Road have been put to rest, as the Ipswich Town manager has officially signed a new contract. Now, attention turns to potential signings to strengthen the team for their debut season in the Premier League.

Reports suggest that Ipswich will push to secure Omari Hutchinson on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell, where he scored 11 goals during the promotion campaign. However, if a deal for the Chelsea youngster falls through, the club may consider a move for Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron.

Almiron, who has made over 200 appearances for Newcastle since joining in 2019, is rumored to be available for around £21m. Despite a less prolific season, his top-flight experience could be valuable for Ipswich. While Hutchinson impressed on loan, he has limited Premier League experience.

With several Ipswich players unfamiliar with the demands of the Premier League, adding Almiron’s seasoned presence could provide stability. The South American midfielder has scored consistently in the top flight, unlike Hutchinson who struggled this past season.

Regardless of individual stats, both Almiron and Hutchinson would be welcomed additions to Ipswich as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the Premier League.
