The international break is underway, with Celtic’s players gearing up for Euro 2024 with Scotland. Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston, and James Forrest have all been selected to join the current squad by manager Steve Clarke.
The Celtic quartet will be hoping to perform well in upcoming games against Gibraltar and Finland to secure their spot on the plane to Germany alongside Hoops captain McGregor.
However, there’s one player, Luis Palma, who won’t be participating in all of Honduras’ upcoming games. Despite being called up for World Cup qualifiers against Cuba and Bermuda, Celtic has intervened to ensure he doesn’t play in a non-FIFA fixture against Ecuador on June 16th.
Manager Reinaldo Rueda explained that after discussions with Celtic, Palma won’t feature in the game against Ecuador to ensure he has a proper summer break before the upcoming season.
Celtic clearly wants Palma to be well-rested and ready for the new season, with the club prioritizing his fitness and conditioning. With a busy season ahead defending the title and competing in the Champions League, the club is taking steps to ensure Palma is in top form for the challenges ahead.
