In a report by The Daily Record, it is suggested that Ange Postecoglou may look to bring Celtic’s rising star Daniel Kelly to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Kelly made a breakthrough into Celtic’s senior team in the latter half of the 2023-24 season, impressing with six appearances and scoring his debut goal in a 7-1 victory over Dundee. While he did not play under Postecoglou at Celtic, the Australian coach trained with the youngster and is now keen on reuniting with him at Spurs.
According to sources, Spurs have been monitoring Kelly’s progress and are considering a move as he nears the end of his contract. European clubs like Bologna, Bayer Leverkusen, and Como are also reportedly keeping tabs on the midfielder.
Despite ongoing contract talks with Celtic, Kelly is said to be intrigued by the possibility of earning more elsewhere. With his contract situation allowing him to talk to foreign clubs, Spurs could secure his services for a bargain fee of £490,000.
Considering Tottenham’s recent emphasis on nurturing young talent, it would make sense for them to pursue Kelly and continue their trend of promoting youth players under Postecoglou.
