Aston Villa plotting sensational swoop for legendary ex-Leeds United playmaker in jaw-dropping transfer coup

Aston Villa is plotting a surprising summer transfer for a former Leeds United loan player. After finishing fourth in the Premier League and securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League with 68 points, manager Unai Emery is on the lookout to strengthen his squad.

Weston McKennie, currently under contract with Juventus, had a disappointing loan spell at Leeds United in the latter half of the 22/23 season as the team suffered relegation. The American midfielder made 20 appearances in England but returned to Juventus for the 23/24 season.

Reports suggest Juventus is willing to offload McKennie this summer, and Aston Villa is keen on bringing the 25-year-old to their ranks. He provided 10 assists for Juventus last season and made a total of 38 appearances in both midfield and attack.

Reflecting on his underwhelming time at Elland Road, McKennie admitted to feeling like he had let people down but explained that the experience motivated him to improve and raise his standards. Despite the challenges, he returned to Juventus with renewed determination and a desire to prove himself once again.
