Chelsea are close to finalizing the signing of Barcelona striker Marc Guiu after successfully completing his medical and agreeing on personal terms. Manager Enzo Maresca is not stopping there, as he has his sights set on a top Leeds star for their next move.
Chelsea has been quite active in the summer transfer window as they continue with their rebuilding process under new ownership. Since Todd Boehly took over, the club has spent over £1bn on transfer fees for various players. However, they have learned that having balance in the squad and selecting only the necessary players is crucial.
Under the new management of Behdad Eghbali and Paul Winstanly, Chelsea has been more selective in their signings, focusing on players they need and promising young talents. They have already secured deals for Tosin Adarabioyo and Brazilian prospect Estevao Willian, with the latter’s move delayed until 2025 due to Brexit laws.
Now, the focus is on signing teenage sensation Marc Guiu, who has been impressive at Barcelona. The deal is expected to be a bargain at €6m, with renowned reporter Fabrizio Romano confirming the transfer. Despite being just 19 years old, Guiu is set to compete for a first-team place at Chelsea, who lack a prolific goal scorer.
Chelsea is also eyeing Leeds star Archie Gray, who had a stellar season last year. The Blues are in competition with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur for his signature, with Leeds valuing him at over £30m. Additionally, Chelsea is considering a move for Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has expressed interest in joining the club over Brighton.
