Rennes and Glen Kamara are on the verge of finalizing personal terms for his departure from Leeds United, as reported by Ouest-France.
In a recent update on their website, the French news outlet disclosed that negotiations between the player and the Ligue 1 club are progressing well, with Kamara being a top priority target for the team.
After joining Leeds from Rangers last year in a £5million deal, the 28-year-old midfielder played a crucial role in the squad’s performances under manager Daniel Farke, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier League.
Despite interest from Rennes, Leeds has no plans to sanction Kamara’s transfer, as per BBC Sport’s Adam Pope. The club is determined to keep the squad intact following a challenging transfer window, with Archie Gray already moving to Tottenham and other potential departures being discussed, including interest from Monaco and Marseille in goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
Leeds remains firm in their financial position and will only consider selling players on their own terms. Rennes will need to meet their asking price to secure Kamara’s services, especially with ample time left on his contract and Leeds’ commitment to preserving squad unity.
