In a recent report from Marca, it has been disclosed that Real Betis has made significant progress in their pursuit of Leeds United’s Diego Llorente. According to the publication, Real Betis is on the brink of finalizing a deal with Leeds United to sign the 30-year-old defender for a fee of around €3m.
Additionally, Mundo Deportivo also provided an update on the transfer saga, indicating that the deal is ‘almost done’ and that both clubs are close to reaching an agreement. Real Betis had initially presented two different proposals for Llorente, none of which were accepted by Leeds United. However, their latest offer of €3m has finally been approved by the Championship side.
Diego Llorente, who has spent the past 18 months on loan at AS Roma, is reportedly eager to make a return to La Liga. Marca has suggested that the player is set to sign a contract with Real Betis that will keep him at the club until 2028.
Despite earlier reports mentioning a higher asking price, it appears that the final fee for the transfer will be €3m, contrary to the previously rumored €4m. The deal is expected to be completed imminently once both parties finalize the last details of the operation.
