Daniel Farke is getting his Leeds United squad ready for the 2024-25 season, with players back in training. But one key player missing from the training videos is Patrick Bamford.
Last week, Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville were seen having a laugh at Ethan Ampadu’s new look. Kristoffer Klaesson and Charlie Cresswell, who have since left the club, were also featured. In a following video, three groups participated in the bleep test, with Sam Byram standing out.
James Debayo, a young centre-back, joined the test as Leeds look to add depth in defense. Despite the signing of Joe Rodon, the departures of Liam Cooper and Cresswell have left them lacking cover.
However, Bamford, a key player in their recent success, has not been seen in training videos. The striker, who is close to reaching 200 appearances for Leeds, missed the end of last season due to injury. Leeds are taking a cautious approach with him, gradually increasing his workload to ensure he is fully fit for the season.
Reports suggest Leeds may sell either Bamford or Joel Piroe before the season starts, with interest from foreign clubs in both players. Leeds are being careful with Bamford to prevent any further issues with his fitness.
