Young up-and-coming defender Alfie Cresswell has officially inked his first pro contract with Leeds United. The talented centre-back, who shone for Rob Etherington’s Under-18s squad and played a key role in their journey to the FA Youth Cup final, has committed to the Championship team for the next three years.
Having made an impact in his U21 debut towards the end of the 2023/24 season, Cresswell helped guide Scott Gardner’s squad to victories over tough opponents like Derby County and Newcastle United in the Premier League 2. Leeds United released a statement expressing their excitement for Cresswell’s future at Thorp Arch and congratulating him on this important milestone.
In addition to Cresswell’s contract, Leeds United also announced professional deals for Reuben Lopata-White, Joe Richards, Dan Toulson, Marley Wilson, and Connor Douglas, along with extensions for Harry Christy, Joe Snowdon, and Luca Thomas. However, right-back Cody Drameh is likely to turn down their offer and look for opportunities elsewhere.
On the other hand, the club bid farewell to eleven players in their recent retention list, including the likes of Charlie Allen, Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas, and Ian Poveda. Allen, currently training with Linfield in Northern Ireland, is keeping fit while seeking a new club to continue his career.
