Celtic’s goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist appears to be on the brink of leaving the club as he has been given permission to travel for transfer talks. Since joining the Bhoys in 2022, the Swiss goalkeeper has only made two appearances for the club, mainly playing a supporting role behind Joe Hart and Scott Bain.
The arrival of Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo has further solidified the goalkeeping department, leaving no room for Siegrist in the squad. The club has now allowed him to seek opportunities elsewhere.
The Daily Record has reported that Siegrist is in discussions with Rapid Bucharest, potentially finalizing a deal under the management of Neil Lennon. Siegrist has had interest from various teams in Scotland and Europe, but it seems like Rapid Bucharest might be his next destination.
Players like Yuki Kobayashi, Liam Shaw, and Gustaf Lagerbielke also seem to be on the brink of leaving Celtic, with James McCarthy and Mikey Johnston’s futures uncertain. Hyeokkyu Kwon, who impressed on loan at St Mirren last season before getting injured, might also be heading out on loan again.
