Following the expiration of his contract with Southampton last season, negotiations with the Saints were unsuccessful in securing a new deal for the 28-year-old forward. While he had drawn interest from several Premier League clubs including Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton, Adams has opted to make his first venture outside of English football.
Reports suggest that Adams has reached an agreement with Torino in Serie A. This move signifies a new chapter in his career, with the Scotland international set to undergo a medical examination with the Italian club on July 22nd.
Adams’ journey to Serie A has been a remarkable one, starting off in non-league football representing clubs like Oadby Town and Ilkeston before earning his breakthrough at Sheffield United. He later went on to have stints at Birmingham City before making a move to Southampton in 2019.
Leeds United had also shown interest in Adams in the past, particularly during Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure as manager. However, it seems that a move to Italy is now on the cards for the talented striker as he looks to make his mark in Serie A.
