“I don’t think Ipswich Town stand a chance” – Norwich City midfielder Gibbs declares all-out war on Ipswich in fiery new rivalry feud!

Norwich City midfielder Liam Gibbs is eager to revive his rivalry with Ipswich Town, after experiencing his first taste of the East Anglian derby last season.

Gibbs made a late appearance as a substitute in the 1-0 victory over his former club in April, where he found himself at the center of attention in both encounters during the 2023-24 season.

Having made the switch from Ipswich to Norwich three years ago as a promising young player, Gibbs has faced both highs and lows with the Canaries since breaking into the first team under Dean Smith.

While his focus remains on cementing his place under new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup and recovering from a season plagued by injuries, Gibbs still harbors hope for a reunion with Ipswich and to continue Norwich’s unbeaten derby streak.

Reflecting on missing out on a bigger role in last season’s matches, Gibbs expressed his disappointment but emphasized the importance of securing victories for the team. He particularly highlighted the memorable atmosphere at both games, especially the one played on his 21st birthday at Portman Road.

Speaking at the club’s open training session, Gibbs praised the fans for their unwavering support and cherished the opportunity to interact with them, signing autographs and saying hello to show his appreciation.

As Norwich gears up for the upcoming season, Gibbs eagerly anticipates the possibility of facing Ipswich once again and looks forward to the challenge ahead.
