DONE DEAL “here we go” -Celtic set to seal mind-blowing signing that will change the game for Rodgers – International sensation on the way!

Celtic is reportedly showing interest in Southampton midfielder Shea Charles as a potential part of a deal for Matt O’Riley, according to reports from the Scottish Sun.

Having joined St Mary’s from Manchester City last year, Charles made 32 appearances in the Championship for Southampton, helping them secure promotion to the Premier League. Despite featuring regularly, the Northern Irishman only started 15 league games and may be looking for a move to Celtic Park for a more prominent role.

In return, Southampton is known to be interested in Celtic’s Matt O’Riley, with manager Russell Martin preparing an offer for the talented midfielder. The possibility of using this interest as leverage to secure Charles is being considered by the Bhoys, who see him as a valuable addition to their squad.

Charles, who began his career at Manchester City’s academy, made his first-team debut for the club before moving to Southampton, where he is contracted until 2027. Despite being praised as “exciting” by Martin, Charles faced competition for playing time from other midfielders like Will Smallbone and Flynn Downes.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers sees Charles as a potential key squad member and is reportedly looking to secure a loan deal with an option to buy. The negotiations could also involve a deal for O’Riley, who is a target for Atalanta as well. Celtic is also pursuing a loan move for Wolves’ Hugo Bueno, as Rodgers looks to strengthen his defensive options for the upcoming season.
