“I don’t think Ipswich Town stand a chance” – Norwich City midfielder Gibbs declares all-out war on Ipswich in fiery new rivalry feud!

Norwich City midfielder Liam Gibbs is itching to reignite his rivalry with Ipswich Town, after getting his first taste of the East Anglian derby last season.

Gibbs made a dramatic entrance as a substitute in the 1-0 win against his former club in April, stealing the spotlight in both clashes throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

Since making the move from Ipswich to Norwich as a promising young talent three years ago, Gibbs has endured a rollercoaster ride with the Canaries, making strides under Dean Smith’s guidance.

Although his main focus is on solidifying his spot under new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup and bouncing back from a season marred by injuries, Gibbs still holds out hope for a showdown with Ipswich to extend Norwich’s unbeaten streak in the derby.

Recalling his disappointment at a limited role in last season’s showdowns, Gibbs stressed the importance of team success over personal glory. He fondly remembered the electric atmosphere of both matches, especially the one on his 21st birthday at Portman Road.

Addressing fans at the club’s open training session, Gibbs lauded their unwavering backing and relished the chance to engage with them, signing autographs and exchanging greetings to express his gratitude.

With Norwich gearing up for the upcoming season, Gibbs is eagerly counting down the days until he potentially faces Ipswich once more, eager to tackle the challenge head-on.
