Manchester United are gearing up to make a fresh bid for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite due to concerns over Leny Yoro’s extended injury absence. Reports have surfaced with a surprising claim regarding Everton’s willingness to sell Branthwaite amidst Yoro’s sidelined status.
Yoro, a promising young defender, was signed by Man Utd in a £52m deal with Lille just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, his early career with the club hit a roadblock when he suffered a fractured metatarsal in a pre-season friendly. Originally expected to be out for a couple of months, recent reports now suggest Yoro may not return to action until 2025, missing a significant portion of the season.
With the departure of Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala, as well as Victor Lindelof being put up for sale, Man Utd had always planned to bring in two new centre-backs. Branthwaite, who had allegedly agreed to personal terms with the club, seemed like the perfect fit.
The Sun has hinted that Everton might entertain a £50m offer for Branthwaite, despite rejecting previous bids from Man Utd. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Everton will only consider selling for their full £70m valuation, which has not been met yet.
