Coventry City’s Under-21s team has recently bolstered their squad by signing two promising young players, Kai Yearn and Greg Sandiford, who previously showcased their talents at Cambridge United.
Yearn, a precociously talented midfielder aged just 19, made a name for himself when he debuted for Cambridge United at the tender age of 16. His impressive skillset was on full display as he etched his name in club history by becoming the youngest scorer in a memorable 4-1 victory over Oxford United in the EFL Trophy. Following his seven appearances for the U’s, Yearn gained valuable experience during loan spells with Chelmsford City and King’s Lynn Town in the lower leagues, honing his craft and promising potential.
On the other hand, Sandiford, also 19, is a versatile defender who is known for his proficiency at right-back. With his contract at Cambridge United reaching its conclusion, he has made the move to Coventry City’s development squad. Sandiford’s growth as a player was evident during his loan period at Biggleswade Town, and he even garnered recognition as an unused substitute for Cambridge United’s first team during the 2023/24 season, adding valuable experience to his youthful talent.
