Everton is currently on the lookout for another forward before the summer window closes in just two weeks. Manager Sean Dyche and director Kevin Thelwell have been active in the transfer market, bringing in new players while also seeing some key departures, such as Amadou Onana’s move to Aston Villa for £50m.
The future of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is uncertain as he approaches the final year of his contract. Everton’s main focus this summer has been finding a new goalscorer, especially after their lackluster performance in front of goal last season.
While Iliman Ndiaye has been signed, questions remain about whether he is enough to fill the striker role. Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has revealed Everton’s interest in a “special” striker, namely Barcelona’s Vitor Roque. However, the deal is proving to be complicated and the player seems hesitant about a move to England.
If Everton were to lose a striker before the window closes, pursuing Roque could be an option. But for now, it seems the Brazilian forward is not fully convinced about relocating to Goodison Park. Dyche may not want a player who needs convincing to join the club, especially considering Roque’s need for regular playing time. Ultimately, Everton will need to act quickly if they want to secure a new striker before the transfer deadline.
