Emi Martinez, who has experienced great success since leaving Arsenal, believes that joining Wolves could be a positive step for Aaron Ramsdale. Ramsdale, who was the No.1 goalkeeper at Arsenal after a £24 million move from Sheffield United three years ago, has now fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates behind David Raya.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil is reportedly interested in bringing Ramsdale to Molineux on an initial season-long loan deal. Martinez, who understands the importance of finding a place where one feels appreciated, thinks that a move to Wolves could provide Ramsdale with the game-time and support he needs to continue his development.
“It’s a different situation than what I experienced,” said Martinez. “Aaron signed for a hefty fee and was the first choice at Arsenal. I never had that opportunity. But when you have the quality that Aaron possesses, it’s important to find a place where you feel valued and supported.”
With rumors swirling about Ramsdale’s potential move to Wolves, Martinez believes that the 26-year-old has a bright future ahead of him. “He is a player that England could benefit from having in their goalkeeping squad. I believe a move to Wolves could be the right step for him at this point in his career.”
