Leeds United have initiated discussions with Roland Sallai and are currently in negotiations for a potential move to Elland Road, as per Sky Sports Germany.
Reports on 27th August indicated that the 27-year-old could depart Freiberg before the transfer window closes, with Leeds expressing their interest to the Bundesliga club.
While talks are ongoing with Sallai’s representatives, the final decision remains uncertain, with competition from an unnamed Ligue 1 team also in the mix.
Sky Sports’ Philipp Hinze revealed that Sallai is looking for a fresh challenge this summer.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri noted earlier on 27th August that Leeds are actively pursuing a deal for £7.6 million.
In response to losing key attacking players, Leeds United has made significant signings with the addition of Largie Ramazani and an imminent loan move for Manor Solomon.
Despite facing competition from a French club for Sallai, Leeds secured Ramazani permanently and are close to finalizing the Solomon deal.
With little time remaining in the transfer window, Leeds still aims to strengthen the squad in various areas, including a midfielder, full-back, and potentially a striker.
Midfielder Dejan Ljubicic from FC Koln and full-back Max Aarons are among the targets, while striker Danny Ings of West Ham has also been linked with the club.
