Everton’s Premier League season has kicked off on a sour note, suffering heavy defeats in their first two matches. The Toffees were humbled 3-0 by Brighton at Goodison Park, followed by a crushing 4-0 loss to Tottenham on the weekend.
Manager Sean Dyche’s team now finds themselves at the bottom of the league table, raising concerns of another relegation battle looming over Everton. Despite narrowly escaping relegation last season, their recent £50million sale of Amadou Onana has left a significant gap in the midfield.
New signings like Jake O’Brien, Iliman Ndiaye, Tim Iroegbunam, and Jesper Lindstrom have been brought in, but former player Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Everton still need urgent reinforcements before the transfer window closes. He emphasized the squad’s weaknesses in attack and defense, urging the club to make emergency signings.
However, the financial constraints at Everton pose a hurdle to securing new players, with Dyche acknowledging that there is “no money” available for transfers. Despite making contact with Gonzalo Montiel, it remains uncertain if Everton can finalize any deals before the window shuts.
