DONE DEAL-MEDICAL BOOKED: Sunderland pull off EPIC hijack to secure signing of Premier League SUPERSTAR – INSANE details unveiled by sources!

Football Insider sources have revealed that Sunderland has secured a loan deal for Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham, beating out Sheffield United for the Wales international.

Mepham, who has not seen any playing time for Bournemouth this season, is set to undergo a medical and complete other necessary formalities before the transfer deadline on Friday. The centre-back is eager to gain valuable experience in the Championship with Sunderland after falling down the pecking order at Bournemouth following the arrival of Dean Huijsen.

Since his move from Brentford in 2019, Mepham has made 121 appearances for Bournemouth. Despite limited playing time last season, the 23-year-old, who has 36 caps for Wales, is hopeful for a fresh start with Sunderland.

Sitting at the top of the Championship table with three wins in three games, Sunderland has been strengthening their squad this summer. On the other hand, Bournemouth still boasts a strong defensive lineup, including Huijsen, Zabarni, Senesi, and Hill.

Despite their significant summer spending, Andoni Iraola’s side has only managed to secure two points from their first two Premier League matches of the season.
