West Brom have had an impressive start to the new Championship season under Carlos Corberan, currently sitting in 2nd place behind Sunderland with 10 points from their first four matches and yet to suffer a loss.
Despite a disappointing playoff exit last season, the Baggies are determined to make a strong push for promotion to the Premier League this year. They made some significant moves in the transfer window, bringing in players like Lewis Dobbin, Callum Styles, and Mikey Johnstone while also offloading Okay Yokuslu, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Conor Townsend.
After a 1-0 victory over Swansea City in their last match, West Brom head into the international break on a positive note. However, there were a few potential signings that slipped through their fingers which they may come to regret.
Tom Cannon, the striker from Leicester City, ended up joining Stoke City instead of West Brom, providing another attacking option for their rival team. Similarly, experienced forward Will Keane chose to stay at Preston North End, missing out on the chance to add depth to the Baggies’ attacking lineup.
Additionally, promising midfielder Joseph Nonge was linked with West Brom but ultimately went on loan to Troyes. The Belgium youth international could have been a valuable addition to strengthen their midfield options, but now West Brom will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
