After spending a year without a club, the 35-year-old former Blackpool player, Liam Bridcutt, has made a significant career shift by transitioning into coaching with Newcastle United’s academy. Despite his relatively limited experience in coaching, Bridcutt’s extensive 16-year career as a midfielder has undoubtedly provided him with a wealth of knowledge and insights that he can now impart to the young talented players at the Magpies.
Bridcutt’s time at Leeds United will be remembered fondly by fans, where he not only played a crucial role in the team’s midfield but also stepped up as captain before eventually passing on the armband to Liam Cooper. His initial loan move from Sunderland in the 2015/16 season was eventually made permanent, but unfortunately, injuries and tough competition led to his departure to Nottingham Forest.
