Nottingham Forest have made a strikingly strong start to their 2024/25 Premier League season, remaining undefeated in their first three games and securing five points.
The team had a busy summer transfer window at the City Ground, with multiple new players arriving and departing until the final moments. Despite bringing in double digit players, Forest were unsuccessful in acquiring a new striker.
One of their potential striker signings, Santiago Gimenez, rejected the move to Forest, and Feyenoord’s director explained why. According to Dennis te Kloese, Gimenez was valued by Feyenoord and had attracted interest from other clubs as well.
Meanwhile, Chris Wood has been a standout performer for Forest, already scoring two goals in the opening three games of the season. This has reassured fans, particularly after doubts were raised about Gimenez’s ability to perform for the team.
However, concerns remain about who would step up if Wood were to be sidelined due to injury, especially with Taiwo Awoniyi struggling for form.
